Cuba's state security cracked down on human rights activists who wanted to commemorate Human Rights Day on December 10th. Over 150 people were arrested amid beatings, harassment, and threats.

They say there are two sides to every coin. Human Rights Day in Cuba was no exception.

While dissidents and activists wanted to commemorate Human Rights Day, the Castro regime seemed to want to repress it at all costs. The state security came out in full force with threats, harrassment, beatings, and arrests towards those who wanted to exercise their rights in the midst of a totalitarian regime. 

An incident involving one of the Ladies in White required her to have emergency surgery. Though Cuba was recently elected to the Human Rights Council, abuses seem to abound in the island nation.
